​What happens if the PTO does not get enough donations? 

If we cannot raise sufficient funds, grants and activities would be directly affected. The Sharon ES PTO would be forced to prioritize programming and potentially remove various activities from our calendar.

What is the recommended donation amount per student? 

The recommended donation amount for each student is $100. Each year, our Board works to create a budget which is then voted for and approved by our community at large. Based on the estimated costs of running the programs, the Budget Committee determines an ask amount for each student. 

I cannot afford the suggested donation per student. What should I do?

That's okay! Please only donate what you feel comfortable with, and know that every donation makes a difference. 

I thought public school was free. Why am I being asked to donate to Sharon?

Without the support of the Sharon Elementary PTO, many of the programs that enhance our students’ learning experience wouldn’t happen. District funding primarily covers essential operations and mandated curriculum, leaving little room for enrichment. That’s where parent contributions step in, helping to fill the gap to ensure our school continues to offer the well-rounded, high-quality education our families value and expect.
